To minimize observational bias, all sections were coded to blind the evaluator to treatment groups and sampling timepoints. Microscopic fields were selected randomly for examination and imaging. Lesion severity was classified into four distinct levels based on the degree of tissue damage. Following image acquisition and evaluation, the blinding codes were revealed, with over 90% of the micrographs being correctly assigned to their respective experimental groups. Representative images from accurately classified samples were selected for final figure presentation.
