Staphylococcus aureus is of concern due to enterotoxin production and its ability to form biofilms on biotic and abiotic surfaces. It has been demonstrated recently that S. aureus can be protected from biocides action in mixed-species biofilms, depending on the specific members in association. In this research, selected aliquots of food and environmental samples previously determined to be positive for S. aureus by culture method, were analyzed for whole bacterial diversity by high-throughput DNA sequencing (HTS) based on 16S rRNA genes
