CRAFT-OA Knowledge Base of Scholarly Indexes

The CRAFT-OA Knowledge Base of Scholarly Indexes represents a part of the "Guide to Scholarly Indexes" produced within T5.1 of the CRAFT-OA project. The Knowledge Base (KB) is a spreadsheet containing structured information about widely used indexes for academic publications. The first tab contains a list of all the described indexes, and a tab for each index documentation. There are currently 20 indexes described. For the KB users' information, the spreadsheet also describes 2 DOIs registration agencies, as they are a source of information for several indexes. The KB should be expanded in the future. The KB is used internally by the project team as a basis to create other, more user-friendly versions, but it can also be used as it is by any publisher or publishing service. The KB does not contain exhaustive step-by-step documentation on how to be referenced on each index. It gives instead detailed information allowing to compare and select the most appropriate index for a given journal or set of journals. The "Guide to Scholarly Indexes" of the CRAFT-OA project includes other elements than the KB, among which a version slightly adapted for GitHub and stored in an OPERAS RI repository: https://github.com/operas-eu/craft-oa-ScholIndexes-doc. The CRAFT-OA project is led by University of Göttingen. The task 5.1 is led by Aix-Marseille University/OpenEdition RI.
