Our goal is to enhance gene model predictions and maximize exon discovery for annotation of the African green monkey (AGM) genome. We conducted transcriptome profiling in two pools of RNA from different AGM tissues: Pool I comprising of total RNA without small RNA fraction from 18 tissues (DLPFC, caudate, cerebellum, Kidney, Liver, Lungs, Ventricle, Adrenal Gland, Large Intestine, Small Intestine, Testis, Ovary, Fat Adipose, Muscle, Pituitary, Thyroid, Thymus and fibroblasts), and Pool II comprising of total RNA enriched in fraction of small RNAs from six tissues (Fat Adipose, Muscle, Pituitary, Thyroid, Thymus and fibroblasts). Three different kinds of cDNA libraries for RNA-seq were created from RNA Pool I: Poly-A selected, Total RNA and UDG Poly-A selected (Parkhmochuk et al. 2009). From Pool II - small RNA-seq library was generated.
