Microarray dataset of TmBER1 gene silencing strain, TmBER2 gene silencing strain, and pSAP2G mock strain

In order to understand the function of the Entamoeba-specific transmembrane β-barrel on the ER (TmBER) proteins, TmBER1 and TmBER2, we carried out transcriptional gene silencing of the two TmBERs respectively. In this study, we would like to find out which genes are affected by silencing of TmBER1 and TmBER2 with respect to the mock transformant pSAP2-G, which was transfected with an empty vector. We analyzed the expression profile of 9,230 genes in Entamoeba histolytica, when either TmBER1 or TmBER2 is gene silenced (gs) using a custom-generated Affymetrix platform full genome microarray. The transcriptome data from either gs strains were compared with that of the mock transformant to determine the specific effect of gene silencing on E. histolytica.
