Using small reservoir for habitat recovery: A suitability assessment for the Chinese alligator (Alligator sinensis) in the Hongxing Reserve

This repository hosts the supporting data for the publication “Using Small Reservoirs for Habitat Recovery: A Suitability Assessment for the Chinese Alligator (Alligator sinensis) in the Hongxing Reserve.” It includes five primary data components:Map of land cover in the Hongxing Reserve .tif :A high-resolution land cover map created through manual interpretation of uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) orthophotos.GPS tracking points. zip:The raw GPS trajectory points collected from four reintroduced Chinese alligators within the study area.home range.zip:Spatial polygons delineating the estimated home ranges for each of the four tracked alligators.Figure 5 data.excl:A continuous raster map depicting habitat suitability scores for the Chinese alligator, generated using an optimized Random Forest model.Analyzed summary data tables, which quantify (i) the area proportion of different land cover types within each habitat suitability zone, (ii) the proportional coverage of suitability classes within each alligator's home range, and (iii) the land cover composition within each home range.
