VPRS 3227 Minute Books, Committee of Management

This series consists of the Minute Books of the Committee of Management of the Wilsons Promontory National Park. Regular meetings were held at various locations including the park itself. The Committee was responsible for the management of the park until the function was completely transferred to the National Parks Service in 1975.Matters dealt with included regulations framed for the use of the park, policies and proposals for conservation of the habitat and the flora and fauna of the park, matters relating to the provision of access roads and amenitties buildings, the provision of safe and adequate water supplies and fire protection for the park and the appointment of rangers.Other matters included in the minutes are the rules decided upon for the conduct of meetings, a short history of the movement to establish the Park, annual balance sheets and reports of special committees.
