In this paper, "The Ontological Status of Iblis: A Comparative Theological Inquiry into Evil, Agency, and Sovereignty," I take a deeper look at the nature of Iblis, moving beyond the usual labels of "good versus evil" to explore who he is from a metaphysical perspective. I wanted to understand the tension between Iblis’s choice to rebel and the absolute power of the Creator, essentially asking whether his role is a necessary part of the cosmic balance or an act of pure independent will. By bridging classical Islamic thought with modern philosophical questions, I aim to offer a fresh way of looking at the "problem of evil" and what it really means for our own sense of moral responsibility and justice in the world today.
