Corrosion of copper in oxygen-deficient groundwater with and without deep bedrock micro-organisms: characterisation of microbial communities and surface processes

Copper samples were incubated in groundwater microcosms in the presence of indigenous microorgnisms. The corrosion of the commer was monitored with electrochemical and microbiological tools. Biofilm formed on the copper surfaces was investigated by high throughput amplicon sequencing of the bacterial 16S rRNA genes.
