Dataset of YouTube Video Metadata and Quality Assessment Scores on Autism Parenting

This dataset contains the cross-sectional metadata, engagement metrics, and multidimensional quality evaluation scores for 76 English-language YouTube videos focused on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) parenting guidance. The data was systematically collected from two geographic locations (the United States and Nepal) on October 15, 2025. The evaluation metrics include scores across three validated public health frameworks: the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Audiovisual Materials (PEMAT-AV) measuring understandability and actionability; the CDC Clear Communication Index (CCI) assessing communication clarity; and the JAMA Benchmark Criteria measuring reliability and transparency. Creator profiles (e.g., parent, clinician, influencer, commercial) and promotional content status are also detailed. This data directly underlies the findings presented in the manuscript "Quality vs Popularity in Autism Parenting on YouTube Videos" submitted to PLOS Digital Health.
