Diffuse reflectance data of 26 soils from Brazil, specifically from Rio Grande do Sul and some states in the Midwest region, obtained using a fixed Cary 5000 UV-Visible-NIR spectrometer, with wavelengths in the range of 380 to 2500 nm at intervals of 0.5 nm. The instrument is equipped with an integrating sphere of 110 nm. These data were used to calculate the hematite/(hematite + goethite) ratio of the soils for a doctoral thesis.
