The Beacon Supergroup of northern Victoria Land, a coal bearing alluvial plain sequence, was investigated. 17 localities were visited between Gair Mesa and the Lanterman Range in north Victoria Land and the age, structure and sub-Beacon surface were described. The sedimentary facies of the Takrouna Formation were described and the palaeocurrent was analysed and a palaeohydraulic interpretation was inferred.
