Prenatal Care Utilization in Pregnant Women Who Consider but Do Not Have Abortions

Data were collected from patients who had a live birth from January 1, 2011 to July 31, 2018. All patients received obstetric care at a single tertiary-care medical center in New York State (USA).

The exposed group were patients contemplating a termination of pregnancy (TOP) but ultimately continuing on to a live birth due to reversal of decision for TOP for any reason, including late gestational age at presentation. The non-exposed group were patients with a live birth during the same period who had not contemplated TOP and continued on to a live birth.

Demographic information, measures of prenatal care delivery, delivery information, maternal and neonatal complications, and postpartum care delivery are included in the data set.
