Dataset – Printed Menus and the Collectors’ Market (19th–21st Centuries)

This dataset documents printed menus offered on the collectors’ market, primarily through public auctions. It includes information related to sales, lots, and individual menu objects, such as date and place of origin, type of menu, language, material support, associated events and personalities, estimates, and final hammer prices. The dataset focuses on printed menus from the nineteenth to the twenty-first century and aims to support research on the artification, patrimonialization, and market valuation of ephemeral objects. A separate data dictionary is provided to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
