Microbiome standard and non-DNA template controls

ZymoBIOMICS Microbial Community Standard (Cat# D6300) was obtained from Zymo Research (Irvine, CA, USA) as the microbiome standard (positive controls). In addition, nuclease free water was used as a non-DNA template (negative) controls (NDT). The standard consists of 3 Gram-negative and 5 Gram-positive bacteria and 2 yeasts with a defined composition. Both NDT and the standard were processed along with experimental samples following the same protocol and parameters to validate the entire workflow, from total DNA extraction, sequencing, and data analysis.
