Prevalence of Multi-Drug Resistant Gram-negatives in a burn unit in Tunisia

Antimicrobial resistance has become serious global health threat. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and carbapenem-resistant and ESBL-producing Enterobacterales are among the critical priority list of bacterial for which novel antibacterials are urgently needed. Patients admitted to burn units, due to their characteristics and vulnerability, are at high risk of developing nosocomial infections. The risk of these infections being caused by multi-resistant bacteria increases morbidity and mortality.
