Association Between Diabetes Mellitus, Glycemic Control, and Undifferentiated Anterior Uveitis in Thai Patients: A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Study
收藏资源简介:
Uveitis is a major cause of visual morbidity worldwide, accounting for up to 10% of visual impairment and a substantial proportion of legal blindness in developing countries. Anterior uveitis (AU) is the most common anatomical subtype. Although AU may haveresult from infectious etiologies or may result from immune-mediated systemic diseases. Cases without an identifiable the cause are classified as undifferentiated anterior uveitisAU. Several epidemiological studies have reported that patients with DM are at increased risk of anterior uveitis AU, particularly in the presence of poor glycemic control. However, the relationship association between diabetes mellitusDM, glycemic status, and undifferentiated anterior uveitisAU has not been investigated. Therefore, the aim of this study aimedwas to evaluate whether diabetes mellitus and glycemic status are associated with undifferentiated anterior uveitis AU in among Thai patients presenting with anterior uveitis and to describe the clinical characteristics and glycemic profiles of affected individuals.
