Dataset for: "Explainable machine learning of the MCP dark count observed by Earth orbiting space telescope"

This dataset contains the observational and processed data used in the study:"Explainable machine learning of the MCP dark count observed by Earth orbiting space telescope"(Koga et al., Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, accepted).The dataset includes time-series data of the dark count rate measured by the MCP detector onboard the Hisaki (SPRINT-A) space telescope between 2013 and 2018. These data were used as a proxy for radiation-induced responses in low Earth orbit. The original L2 data is archived in the ISAS/JAXA Data Archives and Transmission System (DARTS)https://data.darts.isas.jaxa.jp/pub/hisaki/euv/l2/In addition to the Hisaki dark count data, the dataset includes several space environment parameters used as explanatory variables in the machine-learning analysis:• GOES-15 satellite observations (X-ray flux, proton flux, electron flux, and magnetometer data)• SYM-H geomagnetic index provided by the World Data Center for Geomagnetism, KyotoThe data were preprocessed and synchronized to match the sampling times of the Hisaki observations. Feature engineering procedures such as lagged variables and logarithmic transformations were applied as described in the associated publication.The files included in this repository correspond to the datasets used for the regression analysis and machine-learning modeling presented in the paper.These data enable reproduction of the anomaly detection analysis of transient enhancements in the MCP dark count rate associated with geomagnetic disturbances and solar activity.
