Comparative analysis of skin microbiome of patients with filarial lymphedema and healthy individuals

16S rRNA gene amplicon-based metagenomictechnique used to profile the skin microbiome of patients with filarial lymphedema in comparisonwith healthy volunteers. Skin swabs taken from the legs of patients with filariallymphedema and healthy individuals were subjected to overnight culture innutrient broth. V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was amplified from the DNA isolatedfrom the overnight cultured samples and subjected to next generation sequencing on Illuminaplatform and bioinformatic analysis was carried out.
