McIntosh Stone

 The McIntosh Stone- a mounting block- is believed to have been owned by [William McIntosh](http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/articles/history-archaeology/william-mcintosh-ca-1778-1825), chief of the Lower Creeks during the early-nineteenth-century and was transferred to the University of West Georgia (Carrollton, GA) in 1916. Legend says the stone was used by Chief McIntosh and his guests to mount their horses, wagons, and buggies; and, any UWG student who touches it before earning their degree will fail to graduate! The stone was originaly located in Chief McIntosh's Carroll County plantation, Lochau Talofau (Acorn Bluff), which you can still visit today within [McIntosh Reserve Park](http://www.carrollcountyga.com/293/McIntosh-Reserve-Park).
