资源简介:
We measured juveniles from four species, black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus), bighead carp (Hypophthalmichthys nobilis), silver carp (H. molitrix), and grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella), for thiaminase activity. These data provide previously unknown information about thiaminase activity of three emerging threats (bighead carp, black carp, and grass carp) to the Great Lakes. We tested juvenile (less than 160 mm) black carp (n = 38), bighead carp (n = 7), grass carp (n = 50), and silver carp (n = 50) from cultures at USGS Columbia Environmental Research Center in November 2023 and March/April 2024 for thiaminase activity. For each fish, we report fish size in standard length (mm) and total length (mm), mass (g), and assay date. Thiaminase activity is reported in nanomoles per gram per minute and the associated error with the estimate. Grass carp and bighead carp have outdoor pond cultures in addition to indoor cultures, so we additionally report the source of the fish.
