X-Ray-Emitting Ejecta in Puppis A: High-Resolution Spectroscopy and Mapping
收藏资源简介:
We recently found an Xrayemitting ejecta knot in the northeastern portion ofthe Galactic supernova remnant PuppisvirgulA, based on archival XMMNewton MOSobservations. Interestingly, Kshell lines of the ejecta knot are possiblyblueshifted by 3400(26004400)km/s at the northern part and 1700(9002400)km/sat the southern part. We here propose a 20ks RGS observation of this ejecta knotto perform highresolution spectroscopy, and give stringent constraints on thepossible blueshifts. We also propose two 10ks MOS observations of the remnant.ssouthern region, where no Xray CCD imaging spectrometer has been mapped despitesignificant emission was detected by a ROSAT allsky survey. These observationswill first allow us to search for ejecta features and to obtain a complete Xray view of Puppis A. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
