The effect of HDCA on gene expression in cholestatic mice

HDCA has been reported to exhibit liver protective effects against chronic liver diseases, including MAFLD; however, its effect on cholestatic liver disease remains unclear. In this study, we elucidate the mechanism by which HDCA improves cholestatic liver fibrosis through the modulation of extracellular matrix. Mice subjected to 7-day bile duct ligation (BDL) were administered HDCA (100 mg/kg) for 4 days following a 3-day post-surgery period. Additionally, 60-day-old Abcb4-/- mice received 100 mg/kg of HDCA for a duration of 21 days. Total liver RNA was extracted, and RNA sequencing was subsequently performed.
