Sea-surface gravity and geomagnetic measurements are conducted on board the R/V Shirase in the Southern Ocean. Sea bottom pressure is monitored with a pressure gauge installed and recovered every summer on the sea bottom about 4000 meter deep in the Southern Ocean.
