Microbial-mediated reductive dechlorination has been recognized as an environmental-friendly strategy for the remediation of 1,2-DCA-contaminated sites. In this study, we have developed an anaerobic microbiota from 1,2-DCA-contaminated groundwater capable of converting 1,2-DCA into no-toxic ethylene with a high dechlorination rate.
