Under the Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program, Fisheries & Oceans Canada conducts bi-annual oceanographic monitoring cruises to characterize conditions at established transects across the Scotian shelf. Since 2014, the LaRoche lab has collected eDNA samples to characterize the microbial community at select stations (when able to participate in missions). Additional amplicons enable the characterization of different trophic levels. This study encompasses 16S V4V5, 18S V4, 12S-MiFish, and COI.
