We investigated the molecular dynamics within alveolar macrophages isolated from pigs infected with the Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) in vivo. Pigs, 28-days old, were infected with PRRSV, and lung tissues were collected on days 3, 7, and 21 post-infection. Subsequently, three distinct libraries were constructed targeting mRNA and lncRNA, miRNA, and circRNA, followed by high-throughput sequencing via the Illumina platform. By conducting a comprehensive transcriptomic analysis of these macrophages, this study aims to unravel the complex gene regulation mechanisms and their role in the pathogenesis of PRRSV within a biologically relevant context.
