Impact of wind-wave coupling on turbulence and air-sea fluxes: Insights from direct numerical simulation

DNS data of impact of wind-wave coupling on turbulence and air-sea fluxes, with simulations of coupled and uncoupled cases. It includes the dissipation rate of turbulent kinetic energy, mechanical energy of water column, velocity variances, the difference of velocity variances between coupled and uncoupled cases, anisotropy of Reynolds stress, mean velocity and temperature, momentum and heat flux budgets. The file can be opened using the software Tecplot. The information of files is described in the filename. The first text string in the filename represents the statistics analyzed in the manuscript. The second text string, “3.7” and “27.7” represent wave age, corresponding to wind sea and well conditions. The last text string represents the coupled conditions between wind and waves, “coupled” representing simulation of full coupling and “uncoupled” representing simulation with prescribed surface waves.
