This repository contains metadata and datasets associated with the manuscript investigating how synthetic leaf bacterial community (SynCom) of varying richness influence Pieris brassicae larval performance and reshape the phyllosphere of Arabidopsis thaliana. The dataset includes community composition profiles (OTU tables), larval weight and survival data, CFU data from larval and leaf samples, and phytohormone quantification results. All resources are linked to the analyses presented in the publication and support reproducibility, re-analysis, and meta-study integration. Content: larvae_weight_mortality.csv: Summary table of larval performance including weight measurements and survival outcomes across treatments (zeolite-magenta box vs. soil-pots). larval_weight_cfu.txt: Larval weight data paired with bacterial load (CFU) quantification from plating assays. larval_weight_syncom20.txt: Larval weight responses specifically from plants colonised with the SynCom20 treatment. metadata.csv: Experimental sample metadata including sample labels, conditions, and description of each grouping variable. MPDhomogenousS20.txt: Phylogenetic diversity calculations or mean phylogenetic distance output for SynCom20 samples. otu_notclassified.fa: FASTA file containing OTU sequences that could not be taxonomically classified as SynCom20 member. otu_syncom20.txt: OTU abundance table filtered for SynCom20 members. otu_table.txt: Full OTU abundance matrix used for community analyses. phytohormones.txt: Quantification results for phytohormones (e.g., JA, JA-Ile, ABA, SA), including sample identifiers and biological replicates. SpeciesTree_rooted_node_labelsmanual.txt: Rooted phylogenetic tree file with manually assigned or curated node labels for tree-based analyses, based on OrthoFinder. syncom_composition.csv: SynCom composition table summarising strain identity profiles across SynCom formulations. syncom20_leaf.txt: Leaf-associated total SynCom20 abundance (CFU quantification) in fed and non-fed A. thaliana plants.
