Export volume of plums from South Africa 2000-2019

South Africa's preliminary export volume of plums in 2018/19 slowed down to 42,579 metric tons, a decrease of approximately 21 percent from the preceding year. Due to the drought occurring in Western Cape between 2004 and 2006, which led to lower production, the export volume was over 40 thousand metric tons in the mentioned years. Moreover, the fact that plums are an alternate bearing crop also contributed to drops in the exports.
