This is the raw data that corresponds to the manuscript "" (DOI:). The three .csv datasets contain morphometric data and raw fitness data for all male and female Syngnathus fuscus involved in the experiment and the .zip folder contains raw sequencing data. all_fem_meso_fuscus.csv: contains raw meaures of the different morphometric traits (length, depth, etc.), info about the trial, and collection date/location for all individual female pipefish. all_mal_meso_fuscus.csv: contains raw measures of the different morphometric traits, info about the trial, collection date/location, and pregnancy status for all individual male pipefish. EmbryoParentage_fuscus.csv: contains the raw male/female fitness data for all pregnant pipefish. Each row represents a section of a male's pouch and contains information about who the confirmed mother was for each of the genotyped embryos and the total number of developed and undeveloped embryos in that section. genotyping_raw_sequences: this is a folder that contains all of the raw genotyping files that correspong to all females, males, and embryos from the successful trials. Within the folder is a subfolder for each trial that contains the indivual .fsa for each pipefish adult or embryo. These sequences were generated with a 3130xl Genetic Analyzer at the University of Canterbury. The names of the files correspond to the ID of the sample. All adults will have a 6 character ID code followed by a date which tells you information about the trial they came from and the fish ID/sex. For example, FU2F1XXXXX.... is female 1 (F1) from trial 2 (2) and so on. All embryos are labelled with the father's ID followed by E#. For example, FU2M1E12 is embryo #12 (E12) from male 1 (M1) in trial 2 (2). These IDs will match up with the IDs present in the .csv files. Immediately following the unique ID is the date the sequencing was done followed by the name of the plate that sample was sequenced on.
