An Investigation Into Technology Attitudes, 2000

The primary objective of the study was to investigate differences in attitudes towards technology amongst students at computer related studies. A sample of 199 students were drawn from three information studies at the university level, Informatics, Information Science and Humanistic Informatics, and asked to participate in the study. The inquiry concerned the following areas: Personal details, adaptability, self-esteem, work style, opinions about machines, understanding of computers, new technology based fear and stress, frequency of damaging mechanical and electrical devices, and family history as it relates to interactions with machines in early childhood. The data consists of two datasets: NSD1696-1 includes data from the first data collection, NSD1696-2 includes data from the second data collection.
