资源简介:
The sea surface geostrophic currents data in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean (15°N – 35°N, 120°E – 145°E) from 2000 to 2008, which are linearly interpolated into 16 vertical layers, are included in this data set of AI-based detection of oceanic 3D eddies.Numerical results from the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) in the domain spanning 9°S – 41°N and 99°E – 145.75°E are used in this study. The model is forced by spatially and temporally varying heat fluxes and wind at the sea surface. Based on the bulk formula, the heat fluxes are calculated from 2-m air temperature and absolute humidity, skin temperature, rainfall rate, and upward/downward long- and short-wave radiation fluxes, which are obtained from the NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis 1 daily atmospheric dataset. The forcing wind field is a blended dataset of NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis 1 wind field and the QuikSCAT wind measurement data. The initial field ocean temperature, salinity, currents and sea surface height are from the Simple Ocean Data Assimilation (SODA) products. The western boundary of the domain is closed, while the three other boundaries are open. The Chapman scheme (Chapman, 1985) and the radiation scheme (Orlanski, 1976; Raymond and Kuo, 1984) are specified at the baroclinic and the baroclinic open boundaries, respectively. The model adopts a warm start. The horizontal spatial resolution is 1/12°, with a 32-layer sigma coordinate in the vertical direction. The K-Profile parameterization mixing scheme is adopted in the model. The model settings and the 3D eddy detection results can be found in Lin et al. (2015).
