We work with Klebsiella (pneumoniae) as a major hospital and ambulatory pathogen. Focus is on MDR and XDR isolates in the context of human infections, but also on pathogenic variants like hypervirulent and hypermucoviscous variants. We investigate a potential one health dimension of Klebsiella as a human and animal pathogen. In addition and in this regard, we analyze host-pathogen interactions with various Klebsiella variants and (host/mammalian) cell lines
