The code data presented here is the custom code to generate the dataset 'Global 3-hourly wind-wave and swell data for wave climate and wave energy resource research from 1950 to 2100' (doi:10.57760/sciencedb.02242), including the source code of the employed wave model and a corresponding post-processing code. The wave model is named MASNUM-WAM and coded with the FORTRAN language. To generate the dataset mentioned above, MASNUM-WAM was forced by the wind products derived from the First Institute of Oceanography-Earth System Model version 2.0 under the unified framework of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6. This dataset contains 17 wave parameters and 2 wind parameters (wind speeds at 10m above the sea surface toward east and north, respectively), obtained from one historical (1950-2014) simulation and three future (2015-2100) scenario experiments (named ssp125, ssp245, and ssp585, respectively). The original monthly output of MASNUM-WAM contains all the 19 parameters in one file together, making the file too large to transport. Therefore, the post-precessing program, which is coded with the MATLAB language, is provided to split each parameter into individual files that are much smaller and more convenient to be downloaded.
