A scaffolded, chromosome-scale assembly of Schizosaccharomyces versatilis.. Schizosaccharomyces versatilis genome assembly

We used Nanopore long-read and Illumina short-read (for polishing) data to create a genome assembly for the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces versatilis. We assembled chromosome arms for each of the three chromosomes (including some centromere sequences) and scaffolded the arms into chromosomes using a telomere-to-telomere assembly of Schizosaccharomyces japonicus.
