Plant trait measurements from grassland experimental plots (2020–2023)

Plant trait measurements on species sampled in field campaigns of the SeBAS project from 2020, 2021 and 2023 in experimental plots (EPs) of grasslands. Plant species with at least one percent cover in quadrats of 1m² were sampled for trait measurements. In total, species inventories were done for three quadrats of each 1m² per plot and therefore traits of up to three individuals per plant species were measured. The following aboveground plant traits were measured or calculated: vegetative height, reproductive height, chlorophyll content measured as SPAD, leaf area (LA), leaf succulence index (LSI), leaf water content (LWC), leaf mass per area (LMA), leaf dry matter content (LDMC) and specific leaf area (SLA).
