Porcine enteric picornaviruses exist throughout the entire globe and have been recorded everywhere. The above viruses are quite frequent in pigs, hence are blamed for a broad spectrum of diseases in this species as an example diarrhoea, subclinical or minor illness to acute fatal encephalomyelitis with a high risk of death, infertility issues and dermal lesions are less prevalent in occurrence. In relation to this, only preliminary work is done on the porcine enteric picornaviruses in India, and a thorough investigation is utmost necessary to study the prevalence of this important class of pathogens in local pig herds and their association with various illnesses in swine.
