Non-participant observations were conducted in face-to-face L2 classrooms across four university settings: Glasgow (G), Scotland; Paris (P), France; Malaga (M) and Almería (A), Spain. Three target languages were involved: English, French, and Spanish. Seven teachers were observed: Carole (C), Janice (J), and Richard (R) in Glasgow; Marie-Fabienne (MF) and Noémie (NB) in Paris; Cristóbal (C) in Malaga; and Marima (MM) in Almería. These observations were fully audio or video recorded. Excerpts were transcribed using the CLAN software. The corpus consists of 138 .txt files, corresponding to the completed transcriptions. The filenames include the initial of the location, the teacher’s initial, and the file’s relative position within the overall observation, teacher, and location. The corpus also includes semi-structured interviews and self-confrontation interviews conducted with the observed teachers. These interviews were systematically audio-recorded and fully transcribed using CLAN. The table below details the data produced in each context, as well as the participants in the observations across the four locations.
