Supplementary geospatial data for: Application of the Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale 2.0 in the Western Catalan Pyrenees. Pilot test in Aran Valley

This dataset contains the vector cartography produced for the application of the Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES) 2.0 in the Pontet pilot area, located in the Val d'Aran (Western Catalan Pyrenees, Spain). The dataset was developed as part of the research presented in the manuscript “Application of the Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale 2.0 in the Western Catalan Pyrenees. Pilot test in Aran Valley”, currently under review for publication. The vector layer classifies the terrain according to the ATES 2.0 framework, identifying five terrain categories: non-avalanche terrain (Class 0), simple terrain (Class 1), challenging terrain (Class 2), complex terrain (Class 3), and extreme terrain (Class 4). The classification aims to support avalanche terrain assessment and decision-making in winter mountain environments. The dataset is provided as a shapefile in the ETRS89 / UTM Zone 31N coordinate reference system (EPSG:25831) and is intended to facilitate the reproducibility, transparency, and reuse of the research presented in the associated publication.
