Training and test data for automatic selection of birch pollen in equatorial view suitable for size measurement

The dataset contains training and test data for the automatic selection of birch pollen suitable for size measurement. The original images were captured using a light microscope with a 40x objective and a Jenoptic Gryphax Subra microscope camera mounted on a Zeiss 60 C 2/3" 0.63x video adapter. Birch pollen was detected using the Tofsi. The present dataset contains the cropped image regions including birch pollen. For both testing and training, the dataset includes birch pollen images that are suitable for measurement (flat) and those that are not suitable for measurement ('non-flat').
