Transcriptomic analysis indicate Icaritin trigger ER stress in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Icaritin, a flavonoid derived from the traditional Chinese medicine Epimedium, exhibits a range of biological activities. Despite this, the mechanisms underlying its anti-hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) effects are not well understood. This study aimed to explore the anticancer effects of Icaritin and the mechanisms of cell death it induces. Through transcriptome-based analyses and cytotoxicity evaluations using CellTiter-Glo (CTG) assays on various liver cancer cells, we identified the characteristics of Icaritin-induced cell death using fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry.
