Habitat Preferences of the Re-introduced European Water Vole, Arvicola amphibius, at Trelusback Foundation, Cornwall.

To collect activity data, floating wooden rafts were ladled and anchored in a variety of different habitats. each week cuttings of juncus and reeds were counted alongside the number of droppings present on each of the floating rafts. these rafts were brushed clean each week to prevent buildup.For habitat data, a wooden 1m ruler and a 5x5 quadrat alongside a leveller and compass was used. 17 different habitat characteristics were measured at each of these raft locations, as seen in the provided spreadsheet. Each measurement was taken three times with a mean calculated and added into the spreadsheet.Data was collected complied with the relevant ethical regulations and were conducted under University of Exeter Ethical Committee approval.
