Translating_whole_genome_sequence_technology_into_diagnostic_and_public_health

This is a retrospective surveillance study of carbapenem-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) in Ireland using whole genome sequencing (WGS). Our study will test the hypothesis that epidemiological and genomic information can be used to define the major reservoirs of CPE and to identity intra- and inter-hospital transmission of CPE. This information will enable us provide insights for infection control practice and proposed areas for interventions to minimise the spread of CPE in Ireland.
