We investigated differences in the microbial community richness and composition in the pitcher fluids of Sarracenia psittacina and Sarracenia purpurea using 454 amplicon sequencing of rRNA gene segments. Pitcher plants were sampled during spring, summer and fall of 2010 at Splinter Hill Bog in Alabama and Ponce De Leon Bog in Florida.
