APECS site and species universal naming convention in Southeast Alaska.

Sites were sampled across the western coast of Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. Numerous sites and species were sampled throughout the multi-year project. In order to ensure consistent naming convention for both the sites and the species that were sampled these tables were developed. In years where different naming conventions were used the universal equivalent is included. For the species dataset, common names, scientific names, and species codes are included. This is a part of a larger, interdisciplinary project called APECS (Apex predators, Ecosystems, and Community Sustainability), the focus of which investigated the role that sea otters have on seagrass habitats, their ecological function, and influences on traditional and subsistence harvest of specified marine organisms.
