Contains SSSOM-compliant mappings of equivalent classes between the FoodOn ontology, and the FoodEx2 food classification system.
The used FoodEx2 classes originate from the FoodEx2 maintenance 2021 version, which has previously been converted to an ontology file and is hosted at https://semanticlookup.zbmed.de/ols/ontologies/foodex2.
The mappings have been automatically discovered based on string matches in labels and synonyms, or based on shared cross-references to LanguaL. Every mapping that maps to a FoodOn class outside of the efsa foodex2 subtree has been manually curated by a reviewer for improved accuracy. Justifications for each individual mapping can be found in the SSSOM-compliant mapping files. They are available in both the tabular .sssom.tsv format, and also as an .owl file.
