Digital Archive from an Excavation at Rugby Gateway, Warwickshire, 2012 and 2014

This collection consists of images, text, databases, a spreadsheet and a vector graphic from an excavation by Cotswold Archaeology. Work occurred at Phases R1 and R2 Rugby Gateway, Warwickshire, in June and August 2012, with further work during January 2014. Excavation was undertaken in four areas (A-D). Area A contained a single Roman ditch. The main focus of Area B was a Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age settlement comprising an enclosure, two roundhouses and dispersed and clustered pits and postholes. Two postmedieval ditches were also situated in Area B. Area C included a small cluster of postmedieval pits and postholes and an undated ditch. Area D contained a well-preserved burnt mound complex situated on the west side of the development site, at the base of a valley on a natural spring line.
