The role of the Hippo pathway has been addressed in a wide range of processes depending on the animal model. Most of the processes have been related to organ size, homeostasis and different types of cancer.In insect oogenesis, the Hippo pathway has been studied in the ovary of D. melanogaster and later in the distant species, the German cockroach Blattella germanica.Here, we described the Hippo pathway in the ring-legged earwig Euborellia annulipes which is an endopterygota insect and belongs to Dermaptera order. We studied two main proteins of the signaling cascade, Hippo (EaHpo) and the effector Yorkie (EaYki) in follicular cell dynamics. We described the cell proliferation events involved in ovarian follicle maturation in the ring-legged earwig and their relationship with the tumor suppressor pathway Hippo.
