Several Trichoderma species (Ascomycota) can synthesize molecules of high biotechnological value, including antifungal compounds and cell-wall degrading enzymes. Moreover, some Trichoderma species have the ability to tolerate toxic heavy metals and could impact as mycoremediation.The saprotrophic Trichoderma hamatum FBL 587, deposited in the culture collection of the Fungal Biodiversity Lab (FBL), Sapienza University of Rome, Rome (Italy), was isolated by FBL staff from DDT-contaminated soil.The genome sequence of T. hamatum FBL 587 (38.9 Mb, GC 48.54 %, 10.944 protein-coding sequences) can give insights into safe biotechnological application.The costs for the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) were supported by INAIL-DIT (PAR 2016-2018).
